VACANT: Director at Large

The Wetzin’kwa Community Forest Corporation (WCFC) is a company formed by the Town of Smithers and the Village of Telkwa to manage the Wetzin’kwa Community Forest. 

WCFC is immediately accepting applications for its board of directors.  This 'Director at Large' position is a volunteer position which has a three year term. The position is to begin October 1st 2024.

Suitable candidates are not required to have a particular expertise in natural resource management, however should be able to demonstrate a keen interest in the wellbeing of the residents of the Bulkley Valley.

To be eligible for appointment, prospective applicants must:

2. Currently reside in the Bulkley Valley (Quick to Witset).

3. Have been a resident of the Bulkley Valley for no fewer than 12 consecutive months prior to appointment.

Please note that typically the board meets from 12:00pm to 2:00pm ~8 times per year. In addition, there is a daylong meeting held around the third week of June, to adjudicate WCFC’s Community Grant Program.

Anyone meeting these requirements and interested in serving the community in this volunteer capacity is encouraged to apply.

Selected candidates may be interviewed by a subcommittee, established by the WCFC board.  The successful candidate will be contacted prior to the board of director’s meeting.
