National Forest Week September 17-23, 2023

Each year National Forest Week (NFW) is celebrated across Canada. Forests are fundamental to our economy, culture, traditions, and history – and to our future. Communities, families and individuals depend on forests for their livelihood and way of life. This year the National Forest Week’ s theme is Canada’s Forests: Supporting Biological Diversity and is being celebrated in the week of September 17-23, 2023.

Wetzin´kwa Community Forest celebrates the NFW by visits in local schools to speak with kids about what biodiversity means to them and also by the challenging treasure hunt for all age categories “Hunt for the Golden Tokens”.

See more about the National Forest Week on the website of Canadian Institute of Forestry.
